- I wouldn't call it crippled when it's unregistered. Still entirely
- useable. With a 28.8 modem, you get close to 80% throughput ... well
- over 2000 bytes/second.

- Unless I'm much mistaken, the registration provides you with
- _additional_ features; like header compression which gives a bit
- performance boost on small packets.
